Professional Experience:
With over two decades of judicial experience in China’s court system, Zhijin Li previously served as a Judge and a specialised Judicial Committee Member focusing on criminal, civil, and administrative enforcement matters at the Zhongshan Intermediate People’s Court. Over his 24-year judicial career, including 21 years as a sitting judge, he presided over a wide range of cases involving criminal, civil, and administrative enforcement disputes.
Zhijin Li held judicial appointments at both municipal and intermediate court levels, serving 10 years with the Meizhou courts and 14 years with the Zhongshan Intermediate People’s Court. He was also seconded on several occasions to the Guangdong Provincial High Court, the highest court in the province.
Zhijin Li has been formally recognised with multiple judicial honours, including one Second-Class Merit Award and three Third-Class Merit Awards. Under his leadership, court divisions he managed were twice recognised by China’s Supreme People’s Court as National Model Court Divisions.
Notably, he led the family law reform initiatives across Zhongshan’s court system, promoting the modernisation of matrimonial and parenting proceedings, and contributed significantly to the development of family law practices within the jurisdiction.
